About Me

My photo
My name is Lisa Silva and I just graduated UNF with my BFA in Photography.... I'm ready to take on the wedding and fashion industry full force!!! I've been involved in photography for over 11 years now. I love shooting couples, families, models, weddings, and events! My absolute favorite genre of photography is fashion and I try to incorporate it into all of my work. I love every aspect of it, from choosing the wardrobe and setting, to doing the model's makeup. I love art in all forms and I try to bring a taste of fashion and fine art into every portrait I take. But enough about me... I wanna hear about you!!! I would love to work with you to bring your vision to life... whether it be capturing all the love and emotion on your wedding day, taking pictures of your children or family, documenting your pregnancy, doing some sexy shots for your significant other.... or just unleashing your inner diva and doing a fashion shoot! The lab I work with offers amazing products... everything from wedding albums, to comp cards, to wall art, or regular prints with great quality! I look forward to meeting you and helping your vision come to life!

Bret Michaels Concert at Whisky River

When I heard Bret Michaels was coming to perform at Whisky River in Jacksonville, I knew I had to be there! I liked him as the lead singer of Poison as a child, and later in life his comeback reality dating series, "Rock of Love" became my guilty pleasure. When he had his health issues last year I prayed for him and cheered him on along with the rest of the country. He truly is lucky to be alive and I think he recognizes it and puts his all into his concerts. Music was what he was born to do, and he does it very well!

I decided I wanted to not only attend, but also shoot the concert... and a few phone calls and emails later, I was in! I was nervous because concert photography is a whole new field that I was completely inexperienced in and is not the easiest thing to shoot. It calls for huge lenses, very low lighting, and high ISO's. Despite these new challenges, I think I came away with some pretty good shots!

Bret rocked the stage with Poison classics, his own new material, and hits from bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Sublime. After the show I was invited on his tour bus and got to meet Bret (omg!) and take some photos of him and the Whisky River girls. He seemed very nice and humble and I was surprised by the fact of how down to earth he was. By the way he interacted with people, I could tell Bret really was in it for the fans... he truly enjoys what he does! But enough rambling from me... here are some of my favorite photos from the night. Thanks Bret and Whisky River for an amazing time and a night I'll never forget!

Angie's Maternity Shots

Who says you can't be pregnant and sexy at the same time? If you think you recognize Angie and you follow me, you probably do! She is the "golden goddess" that I use for alot of my promo stuff. I was so happy for her when she told me her good news and of course offered to do her maternity pictures. We had a really fun time shooting and it just so happens that her son, Gavin is due on my son, Noah's birthday (February 18th!)

Brenna and Kiersten- double the trouble!

I shot these beautiful little seven year old twins at Old Bainbridge Park in Tallahassee, FL. Their mother Jessica jumped in some shots and I even got their aunt Jordan (who is expecting their first cousin next spring) in a few. With twins its always double the trouble and attitude, but also double the cute factor and I love how their personalities shine through in the photographs!

Edward

I recently shot my first male model, Edward, at Jax Beach close to sunset. Since the whole shooting men's fashion thing is new to me, I used Taylor Lautner's Rolling Stone Magazine shoot for inspiration (check it out, its hot!) Ed is very photogenic and a great sport! (that water was alot colder then it looks!) Enjoy ladies...

my personal fav...

Shoot with Kelsey- Take 2!

Last year I shot Kelsey and we met up again recently to build her portfolio. Her hair's changed, but the way she works it for the camera has only gotten better! We shot a few different looks and locations... enjoy!
