About Me

My photo
My name is Lisa Silva and I just graduated UNF with my BFA in Photography.... I'm ready to take on the wedding and fashion industry full force!!! I've been involved in photography for over 11 years now. I love shooting couples, families, models, weddings, and events! My absolute favorite genre of photography is fashion and I try to incorporate it into all of my work. I love every aspect of it, from choosing the wardrobe and setting, to doing the model's makeup. I love art in all forms and I try to bring a taste of fashion and fine art into every portrait I take. But enough about me... I wanna hear about you!!! I would love to work with you to bring your vision to life... whether it be capturing all the love and emotion on your wedding day, taking pictures of your children or family, documenting your pregnancy, doing some sexy shots for your significant other.... or just unleashing your inner diva and doing a fashion shoot! The lab I work with offers amazing products... everything from wedding albums, to comp cards, to wall art, or regular prints with great quality! I look forward to meeting you and helping your vision come to life!

Michelle- The Third Trimester!

Well its official, Michelle is in her third trimester now, and I can now reveal that she is having a BOY! Malaki Sloan will be here January 19, 2010! We thought Michelle was going to have a girl, so thats why the first set of pictures have alot of pink in them... but thats ok, thats what photoshop is for! We are all super excited for little Kai to get here! For this session, Michelle and Matt left Rowan with a sitter and we shot in the studio to get some more intimate couple shots.

their family's symbol for I love you:

and just cause you're pregnant, doesn't mean you still can't rock the "man bra"!!!

Morgan's Toxic!

I have always been (and will always be) a huge Britney Spears fan. Her video "Toxic" was one of my all time favorites! I love the styling in it, especially where she is in the flesh colored body suit with rhinestones glued all over her, so I decided to try and recreate it. I used Morgan as my model and with the help of my firend Liz, remade Britney's outfit as best as we could. I used hot pink and orange gels on a white background, and I am in love with how these pictures came out! We also used a smoke machine... which turned out to be a bad idea because it set off the fire alarm.... but before we got evacuated, we managed to get some amazing shots!

Modern day Adam and Eve

I used my good friends Jordan and Joshua (who happen to be married in real life!) for this shoot. I wanted to do a sexier more modern version of the way Adam and Eve have been portrayed before. Of course this was a fashion shoot, so the wardrobe was edgy and sexy for Jordan, and simple and covered in wet clay for Josh! I wanted to portray her as an evil temptress, and him a lost caveman... knowing he wants that apple but also knowing he shouldn't eat it.... This was shot in a studio, using green gels on the background lights, foliage that we picked from outside, and a fog machine with a mind of its own! Enjoy!

The Body Paint Series

I recently became very interested in body paint, not only the beauty of it and how the studio lights reflect off it it, but also the symbolism behind it. To me, it is kind of like wearing a mask, showing off your body, but hiding it at the same time... For this project, I used three different models... all with different ethnicities, body types, and personal styles. But the one thing that unified these women together was the paint... I played with the saturation and used some textures in the post edit to give them a more dramatic feel....
